Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2023 Keep in mind that I live on the outskirts of Austin, TX, within a 25 mile radius of all the transmission towers. The towers are on the sole high hill in the area and the land here is flat as a pancake. If you're in the mountains, live a long way from the transmitters, or in a thành phố surrounded by tall buildings, your results will not be the same. (1). Price is not a value. All the reviews said "Get a quality antenna lượt thích a Craftsman for best results" ví that's the brand I purchased. When it arrived it was about $10 worth of thin aluminum tubes. Come on, for $85? It was a small box within a much larger box, lượt thích one of those goofy Christmas presents. I doubt it cost the company $15 đồ sộ make even with the labor. When I dropped it (and you will drop it if you mount it on a 10 foot 1x2 and climb up a 24 foot ladder and a good gust of wind comes along before you can get it fastened), the outer tubes, which are held on by pop rivets and cannot be tightened, came loose. I had đồ sộ literally tie them back đồ sộ the mast with twist ties!! So minus one star for the cheap quality and the high price. Value for price aside, once installed, it worked lượt thích a champ. I don't know how long it will last as we often have wind gusts over 35 mpg. I did not extend it on up above the top of the chimney because it was way too high (I'm 75 years old, and I was already afraid I was going đồ sộ fall off that shaky aluminum ladder)! But it didn't seem đồ sộ matter as all the channels come in crystal clear. Now I can get rid of basic cable (which just went up đồ sộ $245/month with Internet). I purchased fiber optic Internet - 500 Mbps, fiber optic, get my local channels and much more over this antenna, and can purchase a streaming service for remaining TV/Sports. Streaming services don't charge you box fees, consumer fees, FCC fees, Local Programming Fees, taxes and surcharges lượt thích the cable companies. And streaming services start around $65. or less depending on what you want. I'm glad I was able đồ sộ cut my cable/internet in half and don't have đồ sộ worry about it going up as soon as the "promotional period" is over any more. FREE AT LAST! 4.0 out of 5 stars
I PICK UP 75 STATIONS

One person found this helpful Reviewed in the United States on August 30, 2023 When my rotor recently gave up the ghost, I decided đồ sộ get (the amazing!!!) SmartKom preamp and combiner. I needed another antenna đồ sộ pair with my existing Televes DAT BOSS LR Mix and decided đồ sộ snag the 4228HD as an open box. My plan with the 4228HD was đồ sộ point it at my best market (Madison) and use the LR Mix đồ sộ handle my desired (and toughest) market, Chicago. I hoped that with the SmartKom and two antennas, I'd get Madison and Chicago as a streaming service covers my Milwaukee channels. Maybe I'd get lucky and it would pull in Rockford as well as it's within 180 degrees when pointed at Madison. My expectations were BLOWN AWAY. On its own, this antenna is decent. I hooked it up before the SmartKom arrived and it's still very directional with some wider coverage. I was able đồ sộ get strong Rockford stations pointed at Madison. With the SmartKom? It's nothing short of amazing. This pair allows u đồ sộ pick up THREE markets while pointed at Madison as I can get Milwaukee and Rockford both off of just this antenna. I figured the 180 coverage claim was nonsense, but with the SmartKom, it is totally legit. The only advice I would give is that this antenna is HUGE ví make sure your pole is long enough đồ sộ giảm giá with it. Assembly is super easy, and it's not heavy at all, but it's big. I can't recommend the SmartKom enough đồ sộ pair with it; even if I were just using a single antenna, I would get it. It does a fantastic job of turning a decent antenna into an amazing one with tons of control. If you're in a rotor situation lượt thích I am it's a total no-brainer.

So, I tried one of the cheap digital “long range” antennas that spec’d 60 mile reception. It worked okay at times but pixelated enough đồ sộ make the channels irritating - especially around sunset. I finally got this Channel Master antenna and couldn’t be happier. It has the sensitivity I needed. No rotor needed. It just works. It came fully assembled in a big flat box. It was easy đồ sộ replace the old antenna on the old mast. I’m very happy.

This was my first time buying an outdoor antenna, and while there were a lot of cheaper options available, I went with a brand with a good reputation, and I went with an 8-bay because if I was going đồ sộ the trouble of mounting an antenna on the roof, I wanted that antenna đồ sộ have a good range. Boy, did I ever get an antenna with good range! In theory, this antenna has an 80 mile range, and those theoretical numbers are usually under ideal, laboratory-like conditions. But with an antenna that's mounted about 30-40 feet high with several condos and office buildings in the area, I was still able đồ sộ pick up a broadcaster that TVFool says is 90.1 miles away, with an NM of -23.3 dB, signal power of -114.2 dBm, and the signal path is tropospheric scatter. Basically, I shouldn't be getting this signal at all, but according đồ sộ my TV, I'm getting a "Good" signal. I'm also getting a lot of strong signals from other US broadcasters in Buffalo (I'm in north Toronto). This was not a cheap antenna, certainly more expensive phàn nàn other options out there (and I seriously considered buying the cheaper antennas). But considering what my cable TV bill was before, I made all my OTA-related purchases with an eye towards how long it would take for u đồ sộ break even after I save on cable TV costs, and the break even time for this antenna was very short. Considering that I'm getting 40 channels and subchannels without tweaking the direction of my antenna đồ sộ hit that sweet spot, this antenna was well worth the cost. Channel Master is a trusted brand, and I can see why!

3.0 out of 5 stars It didn't improve reception.

I had high hopes for this unit. There is one channel in my area that wasn't coming in well with the antenna I was using and I'd hoped this unit would bring that one in. I spent a few hours taking the existing antenna down and installing this unit and doing position tests but no matter what I did the reception wasn't any better phàn nàn what I was hoping đồ sộ replace. I returned the unitl.
4.0 out of 5 stars expensive but give u most channels ever

expensive but give u most channels ever i am in downtown toronto [king/dufferin], ground floor apt w/ big south window Xem thêm: shoes to draw still better phàn nàn paying those telcos - and i get pic quality just lượt thích telcos get BUT tự not provide
i use this 'outdoor' antenna in my 'indoor' setup
i am on ground floor, in downtown toronto, big window facing south
works more reliably phàn nàn previous setup [2x4-bay antennas connected together w/ combiner] and i get channels from pretty far away - i tự use a $10 'amplifier' connected đồ sộ cable just before tv
i have a filter too but when removed from setup i get more channels
one note tho' is that their tech tư vấn sucks
just try various setup on your own - seems tech tư vấn is just guessing
now i get channels from toronto, hamilton, batavia ny, baffalo ny
