I'm thinking of going single stage on my current project (solid color, non metallic) I'd lượt thích đồ sộ know if there are any preferences - I'd lượt thích it đồ sộ shoot well and I'll want đồ sộ color sand and buff as best as possible. Any advice, tips, etc. (I have my reasons for going single stage this round - but that's another topic) ....... thanks

How much money bởi you want đồ sộ spend?

I always liked PPG's Concept. But its not cheap.

If its your first paint job and you want đồ sộ save money, go with a good name brand acrylic enamel with the hardener.......

I've shot base/clear and have done fair - only shot SS a time or two and usually got a good amount of orange peel - not on a budget, just want the simplicity and durability of a single stage on my older xế hộp - but looking nearly as nice as BC/CC if possible. I've had two cars with BC/CC issues, long story ....

Concept is one of the best ones out there, but as ODG said comes with a price tag.

I've always liked utech's 3.8 polyurethane single stage system. See if you are able đồ sộ get utech products in your area...any sikkens delaer should be able đồ sộ get it.

Thanks -I'll kiểm tra around. Anything different in regards đồ sộ prep for s/s ? I usually have the xế hộp sealed and 600'd and then shoot when ready ($) After reading around it looks lượt thích I can get just as nice of a finished product with a quality solid s/s as a bc/cc. I read an article stating 3-4 coats, wet sand w/500, 3-4 more coats (Hot Rod Magazine) ? Seems lượt thích alot đồ sộ má - tips appreciated as s/s application and advise ain't around much.

Good god,,,Your creating đồ sộ much work.

All you have đồ sộ bởi is sand it with 400, spray three or four coats, sand and buff. There is NO need for all that other stuff.

Go with the Concept,,,you will lượt thích the way it sprays. (I don't recommend using a HVLP gun đồ sộ apply it, but thats just me)

Cool. Go Mango orange on my 70 Dart - should look original (don't want the "over-restored" look !).

I really lượt thích the PPG Concept too. I have a Đen daily driver with Concept that is now in its 4th year, and it still looks new. In Pittsburgh, it goes below zero in the winter, close đồ sộ 100 in the summer, and the xế hộp has never seen the inside of a garage. Yet each spring, a light buff and wax and it looks incredible. Can't say enough good things about the stuff. Maybe a little pricey, but definately worth it.

Life is short. Play hard.

Lacquer, enamel, acrylic enamel, synthetic enamel and urethane
are all "single stage" paints.
Big differences between them.
