Reviewed in the United States on July 25, 2023 I did a lot of research prior to tướng making this purchase. Our friends just got one of the GPS collars that they're pretty happy with but with our yard being just under một nửa acre, they weren't an option. They are about 3x more expensive too.

It's best to tướng FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS! Though, trial and error is effective as well😅. Not all dogs are alike. Now, my dog is trained to tướng stay in my yard.
One person found this helpful Reviewed in the United States on October 19, 2023 I gave the four stars because the product itself is wonderful. I put it in my house and the boundary line went all the way around the yard. I could extend it if I wanted to tướng I could make it smaller. It really is a nice product and I think it would’ve worked great with a dog however, my purposes was for a mèo I would not recommend this particular product for a mèo. The collar is too thick and the device is too heavy. The mèo did not lượt thích it at all. They don’t advertise the product for cats. I just needed something to tướng keep my mèo in the yard and I thought I would give this a try, ví I just want to tướng let everybody out there know that it’s great for dogs, but not for cats and I would highly recommend it if you’re trying to tướng keep your dogs in your yard
2 people found this helpful Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2019 TLDR: We live on a corner lot and have no reasonable way to tướng fence our yard ví tried this. It’s not a physical barrier and our dog has left the perimeter a few times ví it is not failsafe; however, he now stays in the yard 99% of the time. More info if you want to tướng read:

Only down fall, our transmitter has quit working twice now. About every 2-3 years the transmitter stops working and we have to tướng buy another one, which isn’t cheap.
6 people found this helpful Reviewed in the United States on September 6, 2023 Works as it should ví far. Distance range is not as far as I anticipated. My dog was really bad for running off but now she won’t step in the yard unless I’m with her, but she’s only been got twice and not yelled, just startled/jumped. Good and bad I suppose.

Spend the extra money on a high over one instead.
Reviewed in Canada on November 8, 2022 The radius of the fence is entirely inconsistent all the way around. My dog approaches the boundary in the back yard and it beeps but won't stop beeping until he is 10 feet back into the boundary. The front yard appears to tướng work properly. The device is no where near metal devices or electronics. It is mix up in the window at the back of the house. My yard is flat, and I have a single story trang chính. I feel lượt thích I wasted 500 bucks. If I knew how much it would suck, I would have saved my pennies and opted for those fancy ones around 1500 bucks instead. I have zero piece of mind with this product. Additionally, the flags provided are WHITE, not exactly useful in Canada where it snows half the year. *Update about 4 months later* First battery is dead, and what tự you know, you can't just buy and replace the battery, you have to tướng buy their stupid "SPECIAL" battery. They gotta keep that revenue in somehow I guess. So I was forced to tướng give them more money and after following their youtube instructions for replacement, it didn't work. I then completed a second trouble shooting Clip along with my spouse and it still will not work. Never buy this, I regret wasting my money, my dog almost got hit by a siêu xe because of this collar. NOT WORTH LOSING YOUR PET - DO NOT BUY.

works GREAT
Reviewed in Canada on October 23, 2018 Our dog (puppy) was trained on this containment system in 1 một nửa days. We have had no issues whatsoever. Training was done as in the guide and worked without any problems. We are SO pleased with how it has worked. Set up is really fast. Owner needs to tướng figure out the boundaries as described in the instruction booklet. Bought the additional transmitter to tướng expand the territory. We have a few metal structures on the property ví we have had to tướng change the area for where the dog is able to tướng go b/c the metal does interfere. Still pleased as can be. The batteries are also available on Amazon and last 4-5 months each. Couldn't be happier with this. Safer dog now b/c we know our pet isn't running away/to the road.

AMAZING for teaching my puppy. Buy extra batteries
Reviewed in Canada on April 19, 2021 Best thing I’ve ever bought my dog. Saves afford of trying to tướng hurry the cable. I started using this on my Lab when he was about 5 months old. He is not 8 months and I don’t even put the collar on anymore, he knows his boundaries. He just watches people and their dogs walk by. Very good training tool. We’ve had to tướng put it on once or twice as a reminder but ví amazing. Definetly worth the money. Buy extra batteries, they last about 2-3 months

Great Product!!!
Reviewed in Canada on February 7, 2013 i have an 8mth old Great Pyrenees...she is about 90 lbs and still growing... Very strong minded dog and likes to tướng wander and track coyote and deer trails ví decided to tướng purchase the petsafe wireless system. have had it now for 3 days and she doesn't want to tướng leave the yard, even when our other large breed dog is out in the pasture with the horses she sits by the gate and waits for him to tướng come back... i think her days of wandering over to tướng the neighbors are done. works great and i highly reccomend this for other pet owners with wandering pets... i was skeptical as to tướng how it would work with an ex-large breed. It only took 2 days about đôi mươi min/day and she stays in the yard... this system has given her the freedom and mạ the peace of mind that she will be safe and also keep her from the road. Thank you Petsafe for a Great Product!!

Our dog is a lab mix and very smart and trainable, but we were concerned because with her playful nature as soon as we were outside with her off leash and a neighbor dog was out, or a chipmunk was in a yard, she was gone. Getting her back on the leash was not easy.
Upon receiving this, I read through the instructions and mix about getting it ready to tướng try. Due to tướng the irregular shape of our lot and the circular pattern of the transmitter it was a little bit tricky getting the flags and distance mix in a manner that made sense. We didn't want it too close to tướng the road on one over but then not extending into the neighbor's yard on the other. It took some moving around of the transmitter unit but we finally found something that worked okay in the garage.
After we had the flags mix and began the training with our dog, a few days in I was concerned that this thing wasn't going to tướng work. After stepping outside of the zone a few times on different days and getting a minor correction, she decided she would just lắc down whenever she approached the perimeter and not budge. I told my wife I was skeptical as to tướng whether this was going to tướng work for our dog.
Well, as I sit here typing this she's outside lying by our open garage door and has been for over an hour. The flags have long been pulled and she doesn't leave the yard. She stays relatively close to tướng the house but in a good way and I can tell she loves the new found freedom to tướng not be on a leash. Amazingly, bunnies, chipmunks, other dogs can all bound off or be doing their thing outside the perimeter and she doesn't give chase unless they're near the house. Awesome results!
I give it 4 stars because if you don't have a nice even lot, the circle perimeter can be a little tricky to tướng get setup the way you would want, and it can be slightly unpredictable as to tướng when it corrects and can vary by 5-10' on given days, or a siêu xe parked in the way of the transmission. The collar does go through some batteries but ví far everything seems quite durable. I'm not really worried about the perimeter much anymore and it's only been a couple months. The circle will ultimately become a moot point I think because I can see her in the future not even requiring the collar. This unit became a great training aid for helping her to tướng understand our boundaries, keeping her safe and the importance of staying in the yard.
Very happy with this purchase overall!
Very easy to tướng install- just plug in the transmitter unit (indoors- we put ours up in a window ledge), mix the range, and walk around with the collar to tướng map out the area. We didn’t have flags ví painted a white line in our yard. We took our dog out 1 time and he had it figured out. I have a one year old 50lb mix- smart active and lives to tướng chase the squirrels who mock him. I have had a number of different dogs and fence types through my life and short of fencing our yard this is the best solution for us. We have used it for about a month and these are the pros and cons: these are all in the owners manual- it works as promised but here are some points to tướng consider
1. It broadcasts in a dome/circle. So depending on the area you need to tướng mix - this may or may not work for you. We had to tướng play around with where to tướng mix it in our house and ultimately found a window close to tướng the back- ví it cuts off a large portion of our side yard we wished was accessible but keeps the perimeter far from the road. For example- I told my sister this is not going to tướng work for her because her dog climbs over one area of the fence at her house. It’s not lượt thích the buried line ones (I have had those also)
2. The area fluctuates.
Seems to tướng depend on weather but significant fluctuation (over 10ft). Sometimes the collar goes off 15ft into the yard and sometimes it goes all the way to tướng the road. Sometimes my dog will get shocked in an upstairs bedroom and sometimes not. It is not precise. We have a fairly large yard and ví just made the safe area a lot smaller in order to tướng make sure the dog will get shocked if he gets to tướng close to tướng the road
3. Other things can interfere and cause a random shock. A few times out dog has been sitting in our living room and the collar goes off. Not sure if it’s something flying over, one of the kids turning on some device etc. we have an electric air cleaner (not người yêu thích based but some sharper image type thing) and it always will cause the collar to tướng shock. The owners manual states this also. However, because of this I don’t want to tướng turn up the shock - which would make it a better determent when those squirrels run rẩy across and the dog wants to tướng chase them ....
4. Obviously. The dog has to tướng wear the collar and the unit has to tướng be plugged in.... I know that’s an obvious statement but some people in my house seem to tướng be struggling with this concept. Also- a few times I have seen my dog cross the perimeter and I can hear the collar beep, but the dog isn’t acting lượt thích he is being shocked. The collar may have loosened or turned sideways? It has to tướng be snug and we are still experimenting with that since our dog wears the collar all day.
5. I have seen the dog chase a squirrel right out of the yard and across the street. Can’t tell if it was shocking him but it was beeping. My dog is pretty trainable and adverse to tướng the shock, but more determined to tướng get a varmit should the opportunity arise. I had a previous dalmation who I am quite sure this system would never work for because he was ví smart and stubborn. Also have owned a dog that if he got shocked would have never left the house- ví it depends on the dogs temperament I am sure
