I've read some complaints about battery drain for this product, which we also ran into. Even though Meccanoid did his system kiểm tra and acted lượt thích everything was good, it wasn't really. After 5 minutes, he would say battery power was insufficient and would power down. I thought maybe it was because our 8yo had switched the wires for the legs, but my husband didn't believe it was the problem. So we switched batteries three times, all with the same issue. So I tried putting these used batteries into another toy and it had no problems. So I knew it wasn't the batteries.

So I researched online. Someone said it could be the brain and that you needed vĩ đại tự the update with no wires connected. So we did, but that didn't fix the problem. Then, finally I came across ONE person saying that if it isn't built correctly, it will put a strain on the batteries. So I rebuilt the arms and legs and SUCCESS! We have no more battery drain problems and Meccanoid works perfectly (even on a phối of batteries that have previously been noted as insufficient by Meccanoid).

This robot is cool. Walking around with him is fun, although a bit awkward and slow. My son likes asking him vĩ đại tell him a joke. The guessing game is actually fun and challenging (recommend for at least 7-8yo+ as some were a little difficult, one was a Harry Potter question and the other made references vĩ đại Salvador Dali). The LIM is awesome! This is where you can record your voice and move the robot, then you name your move and store it into the robot's library, sánh then when you say the move's name when you are in the right thực đơn, it does the move! We did one for happy new year, which I will try and post.

The thực đơn takes a little getting used vĩ đại. The new 2.0 model has improvements in using natural language, whereas the original will only obey if the words are said in the exact order. But I lượt thích the robot in general, although you tự have vĩ đại repeat yourself at times.

The tiện ích is lackluster if you ask bu. It's not well designed and can be confusing vĩ đại navigate. We found it easier and more fun vĩ đại interact with the robot directly (someone said you have vĩ đại use the tiện ích vĩ đại operate the 2.0 model but not sure if that is true or not). I tự wish it could tự more, and if you could tự more programming or if the tiện ích was better. So it loses one star for the tiện ích, less functionality and poor service (tried calling and couldn't even get through but from what I read not one rep mentioned the fix that actually works).

As for the build itself, my 8yo did 95% of it all on his own. But if you run rẩy into any battery problems once it's up and running (even if it lasts 30 min or 1 day), try dismantling the servo parts and rebuild them paying close attention vĩ đại the instructions and then I believe the battery drain should resolve itself (assuming no defective servos or parts).
