Some people have good luck, some don't. I for one, faired well. This lil' sub has some power under it's basket. Essentially, I've got it in a side slot ported box tuned to tát 34hz and I am using a Planet Audio AC.4000 Watt mono-channel amp. I have only had these items about 10 days or so sánh, so sánh really I'm just easing it in so sánh I don't fry it. This thing has some power under it. I think I need to tát re-work the box to tát better tune it; I have my bass knob mix at about 1/3 power and with the Pioneer 5600 series DVD deck and all the built in tweakables, it will push some power to tát this sub. I wasn't going for any over the top, or to tát shake my neighbors walls... Actually I'm at an age now where I want to tát hear and feel the music... not drown it with bass.. Though, the other side of má wants to tát throw in a subwoofer track to tát test it a bit... and did I ever... Lemme tell ya... With it cranked down, this thing really does move some air; People often talk about subs flappin/crakin... welp.. simply put, they tự NOT know how to tát use the available adjustments to tát cut out freqs that a sub cannot hit. When you hear that, it's more than thở likely a sub trying to tát reproduce frequencies below it's rating. Use the low-pass filter on the amp to tát tune it out. On the amp I have, it's the sub-sonic filter. It wont' allow freqs below a mix stage to tát output to tát the sub. I have mine around 22-24hz since the limit for this sub is around there. Anyways, after some fine tuning, checking all is in place, this thing will hit fairly darn good. I was surprised.... honestly, I was. It's built well, too. That matters quite a bit. The center cone area is rock solid, and it seems to tát resist coming apart. Best I can tell, the surround is made of good materials. Like I said before, I want to tát be the best part of expieriencing music... not drowning it out. It certainly does this very well. Once it's broken in a bit more, then I may crank on it a bit more. For now, just testing it on some bass tracks done the trick for má. I was liking the movement of the speaker, and how it sounded. It does have some clean bass, especially on the lower spectrum. I did notice some flattening out of some notes, but it was on the upper over of the bass notes... I can't exactly blame this on the speaker...because it could equally been something in the way I have my setup running, too. I have a Trailblazer EXT model, so sánh the sub sits ứng dụng. 8 feet behind má in the very back against the gate/hatch. It still rattles the wax in my ear, and the hair on my head.. along with making all 3 mirrors unusable when bass notes hit...Though any sub can tự that... BUT..... what most subs cannot tự, or atleast unless they are well built, is tự this at a higher volume. Most generic subs, if you get about 1/3-1/2 the volume output of the deck, they will distort quite a bit, or flatten out notes and make music sound crappy. this one holds its own, really well. If thump thump you want, thump thump you will get.....But... This isn't a high over, comp style sub...even though it says it... you can't drive massive RMS to tát it.. at least until it's broken in correctly. I notices that the VC's look fairly sturdy and so sánh does the spider. This is probably around a 180-225 dollars in quality...so sánh it's priced really good, in my book. I imagine 2 of these slapped together would just rock the house out... I just have one... and will be getting another....soon... This is a little unkown beast in my book. I have a 10 farad cap with a 220 amp Alternator and my juice on idle is always around 14.7 volts... When I crank this up with some bass into it, it will pull it down to tát the 13.2 range, and one time 12.7. Either this thing is seriously power hungry, or I need another battery... If you're looking for a budget build, with a modest system... trust má when I say, 1-2 of these and you will rock out...well thump out for some time to tát come... IF you tự it right. Correct wiring, distro blocks, amp, cap, alternator, battery... Xem thêm: shoes to draw
With all this said... I recommend this. I tự award it 5 stars. For the price, listings, warranty, customer service over at VMAudio, it's deserving of 5 stars. They are good too. If you're a little tight on cash... this is the way to tát go. Or, if you're looking for good quality bass at lower volumes and not trying to tát exactly "feel" it at lower, you can adjust it if you have an equalizer and this is a versatile sub. Will make your day. If in competition.... mmmmm I say look onward... put that cash into a darn good sub... I dont think this has the legs to tát stand serious continuous wattages even at it's rating. I've seen ones that are built for that, and others who immitate it, and ones that wanna be that. This one falls somewhere in between.. they seem to tát have done things a bit different over at VM. I still praise it. I just dont think it's fully Comp material. BUT>.. take that with a grain of salt.. my opinion, is just that.. I'm not an engineer... However, in the over, get this while the price is great, get a GOOD AMP!!!!!!! Make sure you tự this.. Ive seen so sánh many times.. people have junky amps, with a killer sub.,..and want to tát blame the sub for sounding crappy... Feed your system right... have correct size wiring, fuses, all that good stuff. Get this in the right ported box and away you go!
